Newbie here. Just bough the ZA3 and then a few weeks later, the ZD3 and am still not crazy about the stock sound. I understand that there is much potential to improve through op amp rolling. I'm using the XLR connection between the two, and ordered the Sparkos op amps for the ZA3 shortly...
