The pre-out output can be used as a secondary input, it works like two inputs of a mixer with the potentiometers turned up, it works very well with a Fiio KA11 with a jack-jack cable, you don't have to switch the inputs. Just be careful not to let the middle pin of the jack touch the speaker...
