I am doing this too, I'm using a single Sparkos SS3602 in each amp. No problems yet. However, I'm not sure I heard an improvement from removing the unused op-amps.

Hi, When I did the op-amp swap I did not apply new thermal paste. Is this step really necessary? I was careful not to touch the old thermal paste.
