Dear Audiophiles and Partners,
Your unwavering support and insights have been instrumental in our journey. We’re thrilled to share that our physical VU meter products have captivated music visualization enthusiasts with their mesmerizing needle dance. Building on this passion, we present our upcoming masterpiece: LCXX Physical VU Meter Audio Switcher.
To ensure it exceeds your expectations, we invite you to shape its final design:
1.▸ Inputs: USB×1 / COAX×1 / OPT×1 / RCA×1
▸ Outputs: RCA×2 / OPT×2 / COAX×1
2.No DAC function: USB↔OPT/COAX | COAX↔COAX | OPT↔OPT (Direct Passthrough)
▸ No ADC function: RCA↔RCA (Dedicated Path)
3.▸ Equipped with input sensitivity adjustment function (adjust the range of VU meter pointer jumping, different input need to remember different gears);
▸ Color Custom Backlighting
4.Ergonomic Design▸ 15° Angled Front Panel (Optimal viewing alignment)
Your voice will drive excellence:
👉 Prioritize critical features
👉 Define real-world usage scenarios
👉 Sculpt the "Perfect Balance of Pro Performance & Aesthetics"

I posted about this yesterday, but I'll mention it here too. Could you make it so that it matches the design of your new pre-amp and future amps (in terms of the width, colour, etc)? That way, it can be stacked and still look good. It would be no brainer for me to buy such set. There is a lack of it on the market, especially with nice large VU meters. I've already got the LC30, but I cannot find any pieces that go with it - all are different dimensions and colours.

Sure, our previous LC30 was paired with V3 and P3 series products, and our plan for this LCXX size is to be compatible with Z series products. Do you have any other suggestions? For example, in terms of interface and functionality.

Will the VU sensitivity adjustment be located at the front or the back? The images above show two knobs, am I right in assuming that only one will be present in the final product? If each input retains its own sensitivity setting, then a rear mounted knob should be sufficient. Perhaps the front knob could instead be used to select the input source (with appropriate labeling and/or tiny white or amber LEDs)?

Yes, this is just a sketch of our product, mainly showing the general interface. We are still thinking about the actual operation knobs. We would like to ask if these interfaces can meet everyone's needs? Do we still need more interfaces?

Yes, an option that includes a built-in preamplifier which allows both amplifiers to play simultaneously.
Hello, may I ask what specific functions do you mean by the built-in preamplifier?
Why do we need to support playing two AMPs together? When is this feature primarily needed?

Hello everyone!
I think this is excellent news.
Regarding the design, I have two observations:
1. I don't think it's appropriate to have a 15-degree angle at the front. It would force the user to place it below their line of sight. Personally, I keep my devices at a high altitude, where there's less dirt and children, pets, or curious people can't access them.
2. Being a device that primarily focuses on aesthetics, I would carefully consider the background design of these analog VU meters. Taste can be as varied as there are users. Have you considered the possibility of easily and simply swapping the background? (I have some ideas & thoughts on this)
Personally, I don't like the screws under the needles to be visible.
I would place both the input selector and the sensitivity level on the front panel, with a selector knob, one for each function.
As for critical interfaces and functionalities, in my opinion, they're all covered.
Finally, I've attached some backgrounds that I like, just for reference, of course.
Bye and regards!Accuphase A-46 DOHD.pngAccuphase A-46.pngAccuphase A-46-.pngAccuphase_260_.pngAkai antonyb.pngBOSE 1801 (mod DarkOne).png

Okay, thank you very much for your suggestion. We have also considered changing to a different background, but we are now preparing to make a physical VU meter. If you want a different background, you may need to use a display screen. Do you prefer a display screen or a physical VU meter.

Hi, Charles!
I definitely don't like a display screen at all.
My idea was to have the ability to change the background somehow.
Even if it means disassembling the front. Or, at least, to be able to choose between a few different options before purchasing.
I think analog needles give any piece of equipment that aesthetic warmth that was lost in the late 1970s.
Any device you develop, from a DAC, switching box, preamp, or power amp, I believe would be greatly enhanced aesthetically if you added this feature. Personally, I think Accuphase VU meters are beautiful, but I add some more that I find spectacular.

Thanks for listening to the nonsense and whims of us, the users!

For example:
If Fosi were to make a power amp with Hypex modules and with this appearance, in a slightly smaller format, obviously, I'm sure many of us would buy it without hesitation.

Both have their place. If it was in the new DAC Q8 I think I would wand to see digital but for this project I’m liking the physical
