Setup will be this
WiiM Ultra USB to ZD3. ZD3 to dual V3 Mono via XLR.
I am upgrading the Op-Amps. My question is this. If you roll the amps in the ZD3 to say the SPARKOS. Then you leave the stock Op-amps in the V3 Monos is the output from the ZD3 "Sparkos" washed back down due to the stock Op-Amps? Should I then just roll the Amps in the Final stage in the V3 Monos and leave the stock amps in the ZD3? I'm wondering due to all the op-amps can some of the sound get over processed.

HI
This needs to be analyzed from several aspects.

1、
  • The source decoder is the starting point of the audio signal, responsible for decoding and initial processing. Upgrading to high-quality op-amps at this stage can ensure that the signal is processed well from the outset, influencing the overall sound quality of the entire audio chain.
  • The backend amplifier is responsible for the final gain and driving the speakers. Upgrading op-amps here can enhance the final output's sound quality and dynamic performance.
2、
  • Upgrade the op-amps in the decoder can yield noticeable improvements in sound quality, particularly in terms of detail, transparency, and naturalness, as good op-amps can reduce distortion and noise.
  • Replacing op-amps in the backend amplifier can also significantly improve sound dynamics, control, and richness, especially during high-volume playback.
In summary:

  • If the source decoder's sound quality is weak, it is advisable to prioritize upgrading the op-amps in the decoder.
  • If the decoder already has excellent sound quality and you want to enhance the overall system performance, upgrading the op-amps in the backend amplifier is also very important.

Hello, I swapped to opa2134p but the ones I bought from mouser have a different number because it's no longer made with lead. I have to say I feel there's no reason to change these. They sound awesome.
I changed all opamp's of the same and eliminated the sub out opamp. It sounds awesome, I had gear that was way beyond this price point and I do not miss it.
