Streamer S3 Streamer Development Log

I'm also stuck on this version, my firmware won't update with the "Internet Update".

I'm having several issues that I hope will be fixed by an update. I can no longer control the volume of the S3 by either the volume knob or the software. It's stuck at 80%. I have it hooked up to a Cambridge Audio AXA35, so I can adjust the volume there, but it would be nice to still be able to control volume on the S3. I also have the audio cutout but only usually early on when I turn it on. It cuts out for a random amount of time and then comes back in and then is fine from there. Hoping the newer version fixes a lot of these issues. I wanted something simple to control music when I'm working without having to switch to my personal PC to control my audio.

Will you offer a manual firmware update option? Would be nice to be able to download the update directly and maybe install it through the app?
Got mine updated overnight.

Hello,

Any possibility to have youtube music & apple music in the app (like spotify actually) ?

Got my product today, the build quality is amazing. Looking forward to seeing the interface development!

Thx :)

thanks,This is a survey. We are developing a new Streaming Media amplifier device with a screen, and the screen is great. Currently, we have two divergent options, and we would like to conduct a survey with you. Option 1: It has powerful software features, including forum management, AIEQ, room correction, SUB management, voice recognition control, automatic song recommendation, and other innovative features. However, the only thing currently missing is Spotify Connect, while other streaming services, including AirPlay 2, Google Cast, UPnP, Tidal, Roon, Qobuz, etc., are all included. Option 2: It has powerful streaming music service features, including AirPlay 2, Google Cast, UPnP, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Roon, Qobuz. But among the above-mentioned special features, only PEQ, room correction, and SUB management can be achieved, and other music-related innovations we want to implement cannot be realized for the time being. Which of the above two product options would you choose?
I have little use for the extraneous features in Option 1. My advices is to focus on the streaming experience and make your device software as transparent and unobtrusive as possible: focus on hosting the leading services natively, with PEQ, room correction and sub management. If other functions can be offered at a later date via firmware, that's fine. But make sure the user experience is robust and seamless- From the reviews of the S3 I've read, it seems that it's not quite ready for prime time.

Got mine updated overnight.
Mine just updated, too. So far the issues I was having are working better. Somehow it looks like I had a volume cap set of 80%, but I don't know how that was set. I don't recall ever setting that. But after the update I found this setting and changed it to 100% and now volume control seems to be working fine in the app. Also, I haven't had the audio cutout after 30 seconds anymore, and adjusting the volume so far hasn't caused any cutout. So so far so good.

One slight annoyance with the EQ settings page, when I'm trying to scroll the page to reach the other EQ settings, sometimes I set the EQ near my finger. Would be nice to have a little bit more space on the edges to be able to scroll without touching the EQ setting. I have to be very careful to touch in between the boxes to scroll the page. The touch is also finicky. I try to slowly move my finger to an exact 0.5 setting, and when I lift my finger, it will move. Might be nice to have a + and - button that can be used instead of touch only.
