V3 and HT4S

I presumed the "pre out", 1/8 phone jack on the HT4S is stéréo. How can I connect to a V3 mono amplifier ?

Miniphone to dual rca phono and then put a Y cable to merge both channels to a single rca connector to plug into the V3 ?

or

Plug a mono miniphone plug directly to the "pre out" of the HT4S with a mono to rca phono at other end plugged to V3 input ?
