The VOL20 appears to have a critical bug that, on my system at least, unfortunately renders it all but unusable with macOS 15 in wireless mode. Whenever turning on the VOL20, the device blinks blue, indicating that it has not connected to a computer via Bluetooth. macOS (15.4.1 as well as all earlier Sequoia versions I've tried) fails to recognize the device. The Bluetooth settings list the VOL20 as "not connected."
I did stumble upon an awkward workaround:
1. Click the circled "i" in macOS Settings.
2. Click "Forget this Device...."
3. Click "Forget Device" when the "Are you sure?" pop-over appears.
This still will not actually cause macOS to forget the VOL20!
4. Go back to VOL20 in System Settings and click the "i" next to it once again.
5. This time, click "Keyboard Settings."
6. Now click the back arrow to return to the main Bluetooth settings window.
The VOL20 should now show up under "Nearby Devices."
7. Click "Connect" next to the VOL20.
Finally it should connect!
On my system (M4 Pro) it's necessary to go through this complete process each and every time I want to connect the VOL20 via Bluetooth. Needless to say, this is a serious bug that negates the practicality of this otherwise helpful little device.
It's worth noting that I use numerous Bluetooth devices with my Mac and only the VOL20 is affected, so this does appear to be a bug with this particular device.
Hoping a firmware update can be issued soon, or that a macOS update can solve this issue.
