Why the 70Hz FMOD is the "Maximize Zone"
The Fosi MC331 uses a tube buffer and a 50kΩ volume pot. This means its input impedance is roughly 47kΩ to 50kΩ.
According to Harrison Labs' impedance shift table for High Pass (Red label) FMODs:
FMOD Label Into 10kΩ Load (Low) Into 47kΩ Load (Your Fosi)
50Hz FMOD 62Hz Cut 43Hz Cut (Too low/Doesn't help)
70Hz FMOD 87Hz Cut 60Hz Cut (THE SWEET SPOT)
100Hz FMOD 125Hz Cut 85Hz Cut (Too high/Thin vocals)
Conclusion: Because your amp is high-impedance, the 70Hz FMOD actually performs like a 60Hz filter.
