Hi Everyone, apologies from a newbie and probably a obvious question to you guys but I just want to be sure before I shell out another £100 that I'm making the right decision, I have the ZH3 which is fantastic with my Hi-fi and my laptop etc but once a week I have a YouTube night and to keep the rest of my family happy, I use my Headphones while watching. I realise my Phillips Oled 808 TV headphones volume is capped at 60 when Headphones is selected and the ZH3 is capped at 32 when in RCA mode, and here lies the problem, the volume level is low, I have Phillips X3 and Beyerdynamic DT 990 pro 250 ohms Headphones, the Phillips X3 are way louder being 32 ohms I'm guessing and not needing so much drive but obviously the 990 DT pro need a lot more but are far superior in every way. My question is, if I purchase the Fosi P4 Preamp and link it to the ZH3 with the 990's, will it give me the desired result, a boost and louder volume? I have a cheap £30 old headphone amp with a range from 25 to 300 ohms and have tried using this as a preamp but whilst heavier music is an improvement, anything acoustic or classical just brings constant background noise and feedback type sounds which are awful.
