Updated the firmware, but no help.

As the title says, ZD3 having intermittent echo that lasts a second or less, and what's worse, occasional sound loss with a loud digital noise sound (like a "trrrrrrrr"). It is connected via hdmi (arc) to my TV. I've tried switching cables, no help.

Try pcm out on tv

I also have the intermittent echo with my Sony Android TV. Lasts a fraction of a second. I do indeed have it set to PCM out.

Same issue here with 2 ZD3s. 2 different tvs via HDMI.
Short burst echo every 20 minutes or so. Went to upgrade firmware with ver 1.0.6 and noticed mine came with that version.

Have not noticed issue with opt or usb. Have not tried bt or coax.
Any word from FOSI? Really love it otherwise but this issue really kills the experience. I hope they look real hard at this issue.

Have dicital 1 dont work dicital 2 works with tv box but not netflix or other sreaming service so always pcm no echo or anything that i can hear. So how do you see what firmware are in zd3 and upgrade. Im only using Linux

Where do you find these binary files? Could you link to a support page or description? Just a bin-file does me no good.
Here is Google Drive link that I got from Fosi Support in response to my support ticket that I submitted.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/119HuM0nvuIR_UTXuFzlVQSZoHY8R_vY3/view?usp=drive_link

This is a link to a zip file that contains the firmware update instructions, the related software needed to perform the firmware update, and a bin file of firmware 1.07. However, this bin file has a different file name than the one posted in the previous post from fcosta.

I've tried this firmware update myself following the instructions and it seems to have corrected the intermittent echo issue that I had on my ZD3 when watching videos via HDMI. Give this a try and see if it fixes it for you if you have the same issue.

If you want to make sure it is suitable for your specific situation, best way would probably be submitting a support ticket to Fosi Support, explain your specific situation and see what they say.

I've been getting this occasional echoey glitch as well ever since I had the DAC (a few months now), in my case over optical. I finally thought about looking into it found this thread - glad to find I wasn't imagining it! I did wonder if it was due to my optical run, which is rather long (but my old SMSL DL200 had no problem with it). Will look into the firmware upgrade.
