Audio Box X2 setup

Thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone might have on this. I've tried to connect the X2 to my turntable in every way I've read about or watched video for online, and all I keep getting is humming and static coming from the speakers when I play some vinyl.

I have an old system of components bought mainly in the late 90s, so maybe it's just not going to work, but I figured I'd post a query here in case anyone has an idea for me to try. The basics of my system

Turntable: Sony PS-Lx300USB -- with internal amp, no place for a ground wire
Receiver: Pioneer SX-2600
Speakers: Technics SB-S407 -- impedance 8 ohm, 150 watt

Thanks again for any help!
Gary

You don't need the Box X2 at all.
On the Sony turntable, you turn off the preamplifier (which is built-in) and connect it to the Phono input on the Pioneer.

If you still want to use the Box X2, then on the Sony, turn off the preamplifier, connect the Box X2 with an RCA cable, and from the Box X2, connect it to any input on the Pioneer except the Phono input with an RCA-RCA cable.
