DAC for native SACD decoding by HDMI

Dear Sirs: I’m looking for a DAC that has HDMI input, it must decode native DSD format in SACD discs from a Sony X800 Blu-ray player (It plays SACDs. and it has the option to send DSD by HDMI output) This DAC must also have an analog output (RCA or XLR) to connect to a regular stereo amplifier. I have been told that Fosi Audio ZD3 model can make this but I must to be sure. Could you please confirm me if it is correct? Thank you very much.

I would be equally interested in the answer to this question as I have exactly the same issue with a Pioneer dv868 I would like to update with a new dac if it will take a dsd stream via hdmi input. I have looked at the ZD3 but Google Gemini says it is not currently capable of taking a dsd stream via hdmi. If this is true, is there a MK2 or an upgrade in the pipeline?

Thanks! 🙂

I have been looking for info and after a deep investigation my conclusions are:

1 - you can´t extract DSD from HDMI output of a BD / DVD player unless you have an enabled receiver or DAC. There are only a few receivers and very expensive DACs than can support it

2 - there is one option, that is the following: convert DSD over HDMI to I2S and use it as input of a DAC. The converting can be made by some specific boxes that are cheap and can be found easily in ebay. The DAC must accept native DSD over I2S. I know that, for example, the DACs of a very well brand (four letters ;) ) can be used.

I hope this info will be useful to you.

Regards
