What about a pre-amp that was dedicated for only subwoofer use? A lot of existing systems have issues adding a subwoofer, or DIY setups maybe it would come in handy. I use a regular preamp that just has a buffer stage to better control my subwoofer settings.
I think you would want 3 pairs of inputs with pass through or "link" terminals for each incase someone wanted to use it in front of sources. And then just maybe Dual Stereo outputs, So 2 RCA pairs.
Subwoofer specific equalizer tone controls and volume control.
both Left and Right Stereo modes and Mono mode.
LFE and crossover point
also Basic digital inputs and DAC for connectivity a lot of devices have like a TV has optical output that maybe someone would want to use for whatever reason Add a DIY Sub to the TV using an already owned amp and a DIY sub
many reasons why a dedicated Subwoofer Pre-amp would come in handy.
Also for remote control or just hand control without having to fiddle around on some weird phone app to adjust your bass or crawl behind the sub for the controls.
