Fosi K7 problem

Hello,

First of all, I apologize for my English, because it is not my native language.

In October 2025, I purchased the Fosi Audio K7 Pro and was initially delighted with the sound quality. However, for some time now, I have been experiencing very strange problems with this device.

Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X headphones are connected to the K7, while the Fosi Audio V3 Mini is connected via RCA cables to Creative 2.0 EMU XM7 speakers.

Of course, I installed the v5.68.0_2024-08-05 drivers, and initially everything worked very well. However, over time, problems began to arise. The device began to disappear from the “device manager” from time to time. However, reinstalling the drivers fixed this problem. However, later, after switching from the headphone output to RCA and then back to headphones, the sound disappeared. K7 was visible in the device manager, and the sound settings showed that the device was working, but there was no sound. Disconnecting the USB cable and power supply did not help. Only restarting the computer helped in this situation.

Another situation, regardless of whether I'm watching a movie on Netflix, YouTube, HBO, or other channels, is that when I pause the movie and restart playback after a few seconds, the sound is there. However, if the pause lasts a few minutes, whether the sound comes back on or not is a lottery. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. This happens in both UAC 2.0 and 1.0 modes. In addition, I currently only have 44.1 kHz in UAC 2.0 mode, whereas before it was 384 kHz allmost every time.

I connected the K7 to different USB ports and it was the same every time. I connected the device to another computer and the problem persisted. I even performed a clean installation of Windows 11 (not a system restore to factory settings, but a disk wipe, creating a new partition and installing the system from scratch). That didn't help either.

There is one thing that tells me when the device stops playing sound. When I turn on a movie and it won't start, it means that the K7 is not producing sound. As soon as I disconnect the K7, all movies start immediately. I also connected Creative G6 and iFi Audo Zen Dac v2 to the computer, and I have no sound problems with any of these devices. Only on the Fosi K7.

I don't know if this is related to the problem, but I noticed that my K7 gets quite hot during operation, regardless of whether music is being played or not.

Please help me with this because I don't know what to do anymore.
