This is my review of the Fosi Audio K7 based on my listening experience.
(In the attached PDF file, the complete document with photos is included)

I am a music enthusiast. I don't chase detail at all costs, but I attach great value to sound quality without going to extremes.

I’m not interested in chasing micro details, often imperceptible, and that’s why I don’t think it’s necessary to invest exorbitant amounts to achieve a satisfying listening experience. However, I do expect a coherent, balanced, and faithful sound reproduction to the original recording. For this reason, I’m always on the lookout for audio components, whether they are DACs, headphones, speakers, or amplifiers, that offer the best quality/price ratio, with a natural timbre, good dynamics, and a believable soundstage.
A few years ago, I discovered the company Fosi Audio, a brand that pleasantly surprised me. In my opinion, Fosi Audio has succeeded with its products in providing everyone the opportunity to rediscover the pleasure of listening to music, thanks to equipment built with quality, intelligence, and thoughtfulness, capable of evoking emotion without emptying your wallet.
I want to clarify that I have no commercial relationship with Fosi Audio, and I do not receive any compensation for my reviews. The company simply sent me a K7 to try, with no specific requests. What you are reading is based on my direct experience, without filters or biases.

I had the chance to try the Fosi Audio K7 for several days, using it with various devices: Macbook Pro M4, iPad, PS5, and even on Windows systems, and I must say that this device truly surprised me. It’s not easy to find such a compact, elegant, and solid product that can deliver clean sound and, above all, such versatility without the need for additional drivers or software. All of this, at a price within the reach of many.

The Fosi Audio K7 is a Hi-Fi DAC amplifier that allows for gaming, listening to music, live streaming, or generally fulfilling multimedia needs, providing sound quality that is truly rare in this price range.

I find it unnecessary to go into the technical specifications, which are widely and thoroughly described by the manufacturer on their official website:

Instead, I’d like to share my actual experience of use and listening, starting with the packaging: minimal but well-designed, with the recent black look that is decidedly more professional.

Inside the box, in addition to the K7 (protected by a plastic bag), you’ll find: a good USB-C connection cable with adapter, a Bluetooth antenna, a headphone splitter cable, its 12V power supply, and a small manual in English and Chinese.

The build quality appears excellent: the brushed aluminum frame is pleasant to the touch and ensures good sturdiness. The design is enhanced by two knobs, a great display, and five control buttons, providing essential but modern ergonomics. I especially appreciate the absence of unnecessary blinking or colorful lights, as well as the lack of LEDs on the buttons, which, given the usage type, would be useless and would only weigh down the device in both functionality and aesthetics.

The front panel includes a microphone input, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a balanced 4.4mm headphone jack.

The rear panel has practically everything you might need: an RCA output, a coaxial input, an optical input, a USB-C input, the Bluetooth antenna input, and, of course, the input for the power supply.

THE CONNECTION

I
was amazed. Unlike another similar device produced by another company, the Fosi Audio K7 was immediately recognized in all the tests I did, without the need for additional drivers or software.

However, there are a few useful points to clarify.

The Fosi K7 is powered on by pressing the first button on the left of the device. The second button is used to select the input it is connected to (e.g., USB, Bluetooth, Optical, Coaxial). The third button selects between line-out and headphone output. The fourth button bypasses the tone controls, and the fifth button allows you to select bass, treble, or microphone sensitivity via the right knob.

The first button, in addition to turning on the device, also allows you to toggle between two modes: UAC 1.0 and UAC 2.0.

The UAC 1.0 mode provides microphone support with a fixed PCM 48kHz-16bit output and is practically compatible with everything.

The second mode, called UAC 2.0, enables higher-quality audio via USB, up to 384kHz-32bit and DSD256, but requires specific configuration on Mac or Windows.

For this reason, even though the connection is intuitive, a little attention is needed, especially when using UAC 2.0.

EXAMPLES OF CONNECTIONS

Bluetooth Connecion:

Press the second button and select "BLUE". The device automatically enters pairing mode: just search for it with your device (Mac, Windows, phone, tablet) and connect.

It’s not possible to connect it via Bluetooth to the PS5 since it doesn’t support bluetooth access but only USB

Microphone connection USB (UAC 1.0)

Select UAC 1.0 mode via the first button. Connect the K7 using the provided USB cable to PS5, tablet, Mac, or Windows, which will immediately recognize it.

High-Frequency USB Connection (UAC 2.0):

Macintosh

Select UAC 2.0 mode via the first button. Connect the K7 using the provided USB cable to your Macintosh system.

Open Audio MIDI Setup – Fosi Audio K7, and choose the sample rate. Note: macOS incorrectly shows sample rates higher than 384kHz at 32-bit, but these are not selectable.

WINDOWS

Open the Audio Control Panel – Properties – Advanced and choose the sample rate.

HOW IT SOUNDS

At first listen, the total absence of background noise stands out: no hums, clicks, or interference; the sound is not only precise but also surprisingly clean. Voices through the headphones are clear and well-defined, with a reproduction that provides naturalness and detail. The tone control, for both bass and treble, allows fine and pleasant adjustment, enabling you to tailor the listening experience to personal preferences without distorting the sound character.

CONCLUSION

The Fosi Audio K7 is a flexible and well-designed device capable of offering high-quality listening. Its versatility makes it ideal not only for those looking for a gaming companion but also for those who want a good DAC - headphone amplifier that easily integrates with different devices. All of this without the complications of drivers or software, providing not only adjustability but also a more than satisfactory sound performance.
