ZA3 AMP
NE5532 is the stock OPA
Cheap/Easy upgrade recommendation: 3 x OPA1612 on the left/right/XLR (for stereo) / 2 x on right/XLR (for mono).
Note: Remove the sub OPA (if you're not using them)

ZP3 PREAMP
LME49720NA is the stock OPA
Cheap/Easy Upgrade recommendation: 2 x OPA1656 (confirm)?

You can update the SX52B section. It has only been reported that the SX52B does not work in the ZA3 or V3 stereo amplifier. It has been reported that the SX52B does work correctly in the V3 mono's, ZD3 DAC, ZP3 preamp and P4 preamp. I personally am using them in both the V3 mono's and the ZP3 preamp.

Ali express also has a ton of these

First post here. Hello, Fosiphiles!

I just got some SX52Bs for my ZD3 out of AliExpress at an absolutely crazy price. It made me think it was a scam, but at that price, I could not say "NO!". I think they were $9 NZD each, and the advert said there were six left. So I said "HECK, YES!"
...
And I have to say that these things are beautiful! And you need to really zoom in to see how nicely they've been made. Just the appearance of them alone made me think nothing bad would happen sticking them into my ZD3. And yes, that is an LC30 and a V3 stereo amp in the background. But the amps for this 2.2 setup are not shown: 2x ZA3s with 48V 10A PSUs and an M03 Subwoofer amp. :)

And yes, I plan on using the RCAs for some experiments, as well as the XLRs on the ZD3, so I replaced all three of the op-amps. And it's a very tight fit for the two OPAs on the XLR side, but they do fit. :) The XLRs feed the ZA3s, while my GR70 which sits on a little JM6 Pro Dongle-DAC, feeds its RCA output to the ZA3s as well, so I can switch back and forth between transistor sounds and tube sounds. :)

I put the GR70 on the JM6 Dongle-DAC because in all honesty, it's a cleaner signal than I could get from the ZD3's RCAs. For some reason, I get quite a lot of crappy PC/Modem RF noise on the ZD3's RCAS, which is why I want to experiment to see where the noise is coming from. The XLRs are dead silent.
...
I can report that, yes(!) there is a noticeable improvement in the sound after replacing the LME49720/LM4562 items that were installed. The SX52Bs are behemoths next to the minuscule 4562s. I needed 2 pairs of +4 glasses to read the label on them. I am not an audiophile, so I am afraid I cannot describe why the sound with the SX52Bs is superior, except to say that the .2 side (one passive and one powered) the bass seems to be tighter, and punchier. I like bass (a lot!) and so this makes me happy.

It could also be that I am simply suffering confirmation bias, and that the sound has not changed. I am 60, and I can't hear anything at 16KHz, even with volumes cranked through the roof. I know it's working, because my beautiful and sensitive young wife complained about it. :P

So, if you are wanting a discrete op-amp option for the ZD3, which won't break the bank, grab a couple of SX52Bs, I reckon.
