Power supply for BT20a?

I have the Fosi amp for two years now and it seems that I have to replace the power adapter every year. The original went bad in less than a year. I though it may help to replace it with the biggest I can find so I bought a brick sized AC adapter GMY-0240100U 24V with 10amp output. That one failed now too. I cannot remember but I do not think it was expensive item. However, when I got the set originally for £67.00 I believe it makes little sense spending around £50 for the power supply (especially when the original failed so soon). I was even keeping the amp switched off when not in use (most of the times) to save the supply. I am using the amp no more than twice a month for an hour or so.

Anyway, can someone please explain to me why the power supply does not last and which adapter at reasonable price to get?

Do you turn off just the amp or do you turn off the power supply as well?
If you do not turn off the power supply, then it always remains under voltage and heats up unnecessarily, which shortens its life.

I realised that now but who would want to plug & unplug it from the socket every time especially when it is hidden under the furniture.

I definitely wouldn't dare to leave a bad power supply constantly on in an unobserved place - it could cause a fire in the worst case.

Anyway, I need to replace it. Do you know which one to get?
