Amplifier ZA3 -5a or 10a power?

Any thoughts on using a 48v 5a vs 10a power supply with the ZA3?

The maximum you can order the ZA3 with is the 5a power brick. I see they have a 10a brick available under accessories that does list compatibility with the ZA3.

I had occasion to test out two ZA3s running mono mode through an LC30 speaker selector. Only issue was one was on a 10a power supply the other was on a 5amp. .

You could hear the difference left bs right. 10amp sounded wayyy better. You could also see the difference visually in the VU meter response.

Any issues with running a 10 amp power supply to the ZA3? Any potential for damaging either the amp or speakers?

Hello,

I haven't been on this thread for a while but I was thinking the same and glad I see you said it sounds better, that makes sense because 5 more amps is a lot. I have 2 za3's in mono with opa 2134pa but they have a different number now because their made with no lead. They sound awesome and the specs are really good with slew rate and distortion. Also the difference with power supplies, the 10 amp one is a Gan and I didn't go deep with that yet but that has a lot to do with it too. I read somewhere, where it's ok to run your amps with it but they will run warmer. Also, get a thermometer and check both to see how warm they get. I have my amps for a few months now and I wont part with them at all. I had amps all the up to the 17k range. Hope this helps.
