Recently got myself a used ZD3. Didn't check the preamp mode at the moment of purchase so return window is now closed. Recently found out that there's no sound when the unit is in preamp mode. I can see volume knob is working, volume level digits change but, again, no sound at all. When I switch it back to Bypass mode, there is normal loud sound and it is as loud as it is out of my Wiim Pro Plus DAC I use as a transport with fixed volume and 2vrms settings for line out. So I guess from it, OP amps are in place and working.
I wonder what can be the reason for it and can I do something to diagnose and correct it? Thank you.
