Newb merak cd user questions

I just received the merak cd player/ripper and overall think its great except for these two issues i have. On certain cd’s if i skip,ff or rr to a song or two, if the song starts abruptly that first second of the song is cutoff. On songs that sort of fade in, i dont hear that problem as its the first second. Is there anyway to fix this? Not all cd’s but still its annoying on those that do this. Please tell me there is a setting for this.

Also, ripping cds, it says press the rec button, it will show rec at the bottom, doesnt spin up, so i hit again says “rec one” which i think i have to hit rec button again to get it to spin up. At this point the rec symbol is gone but its playing, and i can hear it through another dac i have through the optical cable although it states no output during ripping. If i try hit play button while its stopped and rec icon displayed it says hit stop first, which of course removes the rec icon and starts to spin up. So maybe its recording onto the usb stick. Im still playing with it to see if there was anything i missed as far as settings but i dont think so. No rip button on remote. Help!

Stewart try this, i reformated all my usb sticks to fat32. The rippng sequence is a little clunky. I held down that ripoing button i think it stars to play. Let go and held it again. Diplay changed but no rip yet. Third time i held it down it said rip one. Held it down again. It stopped the spin. The fifth time i held that button down it finally said ripping all. Let it go and it spun up and ripped the cd. I checked and they are all wav files. The ripper cant rip track names so they are like generic like d1-track1.wav which then you have to rename once you copy them to your main storage device. Im not that familiar with the wav format so not sure if i will continue this ripping or just rip my cds from a normal cd player. If this format stores more bits or sounds better i will continue but the 5 button pushes i think could have been designed better.

Are you pressing and holding the rip button? Just the rip button. I hold it until the screen shows rec flash at the bottom of the screen. If nothing changes after a few seconds i let the button go and press and hold again. On avg it takes me 5 button pushes to get to the rip all. When you see rec show up on the scree, this first rec is rec one, so i hit the button again that usually stops the cd and i hold the button again and rec starts flashing again then should say rec all. Sometimes i see a “copy one” and “copy all” which i havent tried. Not sure what the difference is. But yeah you should see at the bottom middle of screen flashing “rec”. If nothing changes when you try this, you should def contact the support.
