Hello everyone, since we launched products such as DAC and Preamp, there have been customers who have been hoping that we can also come up with a linear power supply to match our products. After collecting suggestions from some customers, we have planned our linear power supply product - PSU20.
1. It has two DC output ports and four levels of voltage and current regulation, supporting voltage outputs of 5V/12/15V respectively;
2. And it comes with two USB ports;
3. Equipped with a purified AC output interface;
Its design concept is to meet the needs of two scenarios: one is the scenario of DAC+Dreamp+Amplifier; One is the scenario of DAC+Headphone; Two USB ports are designed to accommodate devices with other USB interfaces;
Its dimensions are: width * height * depth: 15.5 * 8 * 22cm; the width is the same as our Z series ZD3 and ZA3 (15.5 * 8 * 16cm), making it easy to stack, but the body may be slightly higher and deeper due to heat dissipation issues and interface limitations.
We have created several related IDs but couldn't make up our mind. Now we would like to seek your advice on which front panel ID you prefer. You can vote for your favorite ID and also click on our link to provide your suggestions for the product. Thank you very much for your support!

After careful consideration, I have to admit that the idea of installing USB sockets is indeed very useful and an excellent idea, especially for powering external devices such as the SK01 or the AH01A LED.

It seems to me that this power supply uses a passive cooling system. Perhaps it would be interesting to have an option for additional external fans. Since you're developing a linear power supply, I noticed that the Q8 with integrated power supply is also in the works. It would be interesting to have the option to replace its power supply with this one
Hello, may I ask which of the following three situations do you prefer?
1. Do you want to change the internal power supply mode of Q8 to linear power module power supply?
2. Add another DC input port on the existing basis, so that everyone can choose which power supply method to use?
3. No need to make any changes, just plug the Q8 power cord into the purified AC output port of PSU20?

1 Change to Linear but isn’t that a big job at this stage?

In my opinion, the best option is the second one: adding another DC input port to allow switching between the internal power supply and an external one. This way, it's possible to choose between the standard or an external linear power supply depending on the need.
I believe the first option would make the product significantly more expensive, potentially excluding a portion of the market.
On the other hand, making no changes, while it would still offer some improvement, might not have the same effect as a direct, filtered power supply.

Good morning!
In my opinion, it all depends on the retail price of both products.
1. This option would force users to purchase the linear power supply or install an external one, which might not meet the necessary requirements for the Q8.
2. I think it's a good option if it doesn't increase the cost of the Q8.
3. I also agree. And it would give the user the ability to use different usage scenarios, and if the purified AC output is free, they could use it for another device. (Actually, what is the maximum current load this output delivers?)

Brilliant!! I have been looking at linear power supplies lately and generally it seems there are two options: 1. Very nice but probably way over-priced products from boutique audiophile brands. 2. Cheap generic products from Ali Express or Ebay of unknown quality / reliability. An affordable supply from a well regarded brand like Fosi could have good potential in the market place I imagine.

Great to see two outputs. This would be perfect for me powering Fosi ZD3 (12V) + Allo USBridge Signature (5V) or any other Raspberry Pi based streamer such as the new Merc-Mini streamer coming from Pi 2 Design or any of the Hifi Berry products.

I also have an Allo Boss (Pi + DAC HAT) which can take two 5V supplies (one for Pi and the other for the DAC) and sounds AWESOME using Allo's Shanti LPS (2 x 5V). The LPS gives a massive uplift in sound. Bass becomes deep and textured and the whole sound is huge.

Would the PSU20 be able to supply 2 x 5V outputs simultaneously? Ie. one from the barrel connector (at 3A) and the other from the USB (at 2A)?

Personally I'd probably rather see the purified AC function as a seperate product if it pushes up the price of the PSU20 but others may disagree. Would be nice for this to be an affordable product but great if you manage this additional function at a reasonable price. But for me the priority should be the absolute quality of the lower voltage outputs.

------YES
The cost of our current product is relatively high. How much do you think it should be sold for?

The Allo Shanti was $159USD but that had two 5V supplies only, and for a very specific purpose. It seems you have quite specific use cases scenarios in mind for the PSU20 too but I suspect there could be a market beyond Fosi users for a quality Swiss Army Knife dual LPS. Simple, versatile, with good build quality. Basically this product minus the AC output and an affordable price point. Could be very popular.

If I recall correctly there are a handful of options from boutique manufactures above the $500USD mark. I think if you could manage something around the $150-$200 mark that could sit very nicely in the marketplace ie. below the niche audiophile companies but above the generic stuff on Ali Express, Ebay etc which feel like a total gamble. There seems to be a hole in the market between those two. What approximate price are you thinking of for this design?

I really like that you've got all the switching and sockets on the rear of the unit and that the front is tidy and slick looking. Have you tested how much of a difference an LPS makes to the ZD3 (or other products) in your factory? Would the AC output be designed for uses other than a pre-amp? As tempting as an all-in-one PS may be, personally I think an AC purifier might be better as a seperate product (or a dedicated upgrade pre-amp PS). My worry would be that the product would be neither one thing or the other and because of this too expensive to achieve more popular appeal.

This was the most promising thing I came across and it took some work to find it.

Also the page for the Shanti is still on Allo's website (whatever they did, I can tell you it worked):
